During the summer and fall months, the parking lot becomes a lively farmers market. 

Since there are three major interstates heading into and out of the area, exploring the great outdoors is easy on the weekends. Lake Balboa, located 4.8 miles to the south, offers barbecue pits, a fly-fishing area, jogging and bicycle paths as well as a large children's playground. 

Residents also enjoy exploring Chatsworth Nature Preserve with its many miles of hiking and horseback riding trails. This preserve is home to over 200 species of birds, making it immensely popular with people who enjoy this hobby. "The Ten Commandments," "Home on the Range," "The Karate Kid" and many other famous movies were filmed at this location. 

Northridge Schools

This community is home to a University of California campus, and it is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. There are six elementary schools, three middle schools and Northridge Academy High School. Additionally, there are many exceptional charter and private schools.
