Home and Retail Shopping

Avid shoppers will never be disappointed as Northridge and its nearby vicinity has a wide selection of shopping destinations to choose from. Take the day off for some retail therapy at the Northridge Fashion Center in Tampa Avenue, or find a well-deserved designer item at the luxury stores in the Westfield Topanga Mall.

Furnishing your new home in Northridge will also be a stress-free experience, thanks to the nearby Polaris Home Design Showroom that carries bathroom and kitchen products from leading manufacturers in the industry.

Northridge Fashion Center is a solid mall in the valley. There are pretty nice eateries around the area including Buffalo Wild Wings, Cups (they serve dole whip and some pretty unique froyo flavors), Yard House, Bar Louie, Chevy's, etc.

Casual and Fine Dining

The San Fernando Valley is a melting pot of different cuisines, and Northridge residents will never have a shortage of great restaurants to choose from.

A quick survey on Yelp and Foursquare will show you that Lum-Ka-Naad is a favorite Thai restaurant among locals and tourists, and that you can never go wrong with their pad Thai and tom kha soup. If you want to know more places that serve amazing Thai food, read this.

Going out for drinks with the guys? Stop by the Wood Ranch BBQ and Grill during Happy Hour and order their famous Wood Ranch Margarita for less than ten bucks. If you’re looking for cool but fancy place to bring your date, head down the short road to Peasant Wine Bistro in Tarzana, where you can choose from their amazing selection of fine wine.

Great Thai food. You can bring your own wine, that's really nice for us.

Menu is well thought out. Huge wine selection. Highly recommend the flat breads. Small but cool atmosphere. Good for date night.

Outdoor Adventures

The San Fernando Valley is a great destination if you’re an outdoor enthusiast, as it is a goldmine of excellent hikes and nature walks that provide scenic views of its beautiful community.

Living in Northridge means getting to Mulholland Drive in less than half an hour to witness some pretty breathtaking views. Go on a road trip with family and friends and drive along this 20-mile stretch for a solid view of the San Gabriel and Santa Monica Mountains.

If you’re up for a leisure trip on a boat, bring the entire family to Lake Balboa and enjoy an afternoon of fishing, or rent a bike to explore the trails that go around the lake. It is recommended to visit during cherry blossom season because the trees are breathtaking when in full bloom.

People who love going on quiet walks should visit the Japanese Garden at Woodley Park, Van Nuys. Designed by Dr. Koichi Kawana, the garden is a sanctuary for peaceful meditation, strolling, drinking tea, or simply taking in the beautiful sight of abundant greenery. The 6-acre garden is ranked tenth out of 300 public gardens by the Journal of Japanese Gardening, and is frequented by both locals and tourists alike. This is the perfect place to visit if you want to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and relax by a lake, stream, waterfall, or a collection of stone lanterns carved by artisans in Japan.

This is an amazing winding road that takes you through so many parts of the Hollywood Hills, a must in LA. Spectacular views from all around.

“$5 to explore this garden is a steal! There are so many beautiful plants and trees. I very much enjoyed sitting on a bench to read the informational brochure and being greeted by a pair of geese!
